What's so special about someone's holiday movie?

The Gran, two grandchildren (11 and 9) both cousins, and their aunt are a bit special. For a start, the family have never had a holiday.

Their dream is to go to Butlins.

The children have had a tough life so far. The 11 year old's mum and dad have had all sorts of difficulties with health and the authorities. Young children should not have to experience or see so much. But now they are living with their grandma, they are thriving. The short film follows them as they set out from Paddington station in London to see the sea at Butlins Minehead. Dream-a-Way.co.uk is a charity based in Exeter, that provides holidays throughout the South West of England for disabled people of all ages. The charity owns 7 specially adapted, luxury caravans at Sandy Bay in Exmouth and disabled children and their families stay in these caravans for up to a week, totally free of charge.

Jeff Merrett MBE has run the charity for the past 17 years and told us that the cost of making these caravans available costs £14 per week or £2 per night.

This means, when you stay in a budget hotel for one night on business, a disabled child (and family) get to see the sea.
